Clinical study on management of venous ulcer

Background: Venous ulcer is the most common affecting lower limbs, usually associated with varicose veins. They are diagnosed by their location, morphology, skin changes, and association venous insufficiency. complicated local scarring, ankylosis of ankle joint, occasionally malignancy. Diagnosis confirmed duplex imaging. significantly reduce quality life due to pain, reduced mobility leading loss income social isolation. Cost estimates put them at upwards 2% national resources. Recurrence high conservative treatment. Surgery addressing valvular insufficiency plays a major role. Objectives current study was assess role treatment surgical management ulcers.Methods: A cross-sectional 80 patients in period 2019 -2020 tertiary care center.Results: 84% were male maximum 6th decade. 67% overweight. Conservative done 22% cases surgery for 78%. Flush ligation stripping perforator done. 89% achieved healing end 3 months, 7% 6 months. Wound time vs conservatively 8.3 10.4 weeks respectively.Conclusions: Correction underlying main stay gives best results long term benefits.
